კულტურული საკუთრების დაცვა საერთაშორისო ჰუმანიტარული სამართლის ერთ-ერთ ფუნდამენტურ სფეროს წარმოადგენს, თუმცა თანამედროვე კიბერომის და ციფრული ტექნოლოგიების ეპოქამ წარმოშვა ახალი სამართლებრივი გამოწვევები. ნაშრომში განხილულია, ვრცელდება თუ არა მოქმედი საერთაშორისო სამართლებრივი ჩარჩოები, უპირველესად 1954 წლის ჰააგის კონვენცია შეიარაღებული კონფლიქტის დროს კულტურულ ფასეულობათა დაცვის შესახებ და მისი დამატებითი ოქმები სამ კატეგორიაზე: ფიზიკურ, გაციფრებულ და ციფრულად შექმნილ კულტურულ მემკვიდრეობაზე/საკუთრებაზე. ისტორიულ-იურიდიული ანალიზი აჩვენებს, რომ კულტურული საკუთრება ომის დროს მუდმივად წარმოადგენდა განზრახ განადგურებისა და ქურდობის ობიექტს, რის საპასუხოდაც საერთაშორისო სამართალი ეტაპობრივად განვითარდა ლიბერის კოდექსიდან ჰააგისა და ჟენევის კონვენციებამდე. ციფრული გარდაქმნის პროცესმა მნიშვნელოვნად გაზარდა კულტურული მემკვიდრეობის ხელმისაწვდომობა, მაგრამ ამავდროულად წარმოშვა კიბერსაფრთხეების, მანიპულაციისა და მონაცემთა განადგურების მაღალი რისკი. სტატია ამტკიცებს, მიუხედავად იმისა, რომ 1954 წლის ჰააგის კონვენცია არ შეიცავს ცნებებს "ციფრული“ და "გაციფრებული“ საკუთრება, მისი ევოლუციური განმარტებით,შესაძლებელია ამ აქტივების განიხილვა, როგორც არქივებისა და კულტურული მეხსიერების საცავების ანალოგი, რითაც მათზე გავრცელდება მოქმედი საერთაშორისო სამართლებრივი დაცვის რეჟიმი. აღნიშნული მიდგომა შეესაბამება სახელმწიფოების პრაქტიკას, იუნესკოს ინიციატივებს და საერთაშორისო სამართალში დამკვიდრებულ პრინციპს, რომლის თანახმადაც, კულტურული მემკვიდრეობა კაცობრიობის საერთო ფასეულობას წარმოადგენს. დასკვნის სახით, ნაშრომი ასახავს, რომ ციფრული და გაციფრებული კულტურული მემკვიდრეობის დაცვა თანამედროვე საერთაშორისო სამართლის ერთერთ უმთავრეს გამოწვევად იქცა. არსებული ხელშეკრულებები ქმნის ძირითად საფუძველს, თუმცა ეფექტიანი დაცვა მოითხოვს როგორც მოქმედი ნორმების ინტერპრეტაციას და სახელმწიფო პრაქტიკის განვითარებას, ასევე ახალი, უნივერსალური და სავალდებულო სამართლებრივი სტანდარტების ფორმირებას,  რათა კაცობრიობის კულტურული იდენტობის დაცვა უზრუნველყოფილი იყოს ციფრული ეპოქის პირობებში.
